Meaningful Giving

can help build a strong future - and legacy

A donor advised fund (DAF) is a type of giving program that allows you to combine the most favorable tax benefits with the flexibility to support Sonrisas Dental Health Inc. easily. An increasingly popular charitable vehicle, DAFs are an excellent way to both simplify your charitable giving and facilitate your strategic philanthropic goals.

You can do your part to extend your legacy and the legacy of Sonrisas Dental Health Inc through a planned giving opportunity.  There are several ways you can make a significant future gift to Sonrisas while retaining the income you receive from the asset used to make the gift. Talk to your financial advisor to learn more.

Bequests: For many donors, a gift made through their will is the best way to make a key contribution to a charitable organization.  Donors can leave a specific dollar amount or a percentage of their estate. If you would like sample language, we are able to provide it.

Charitable Remainder Trust: A charitable remainder trust is an irrevocable trust which provides income to you or another designated beneficiary during your lifetime and then distributes the remainder to Sonrisas upon the death of the last beneficiary.  Charitable remainder trusts are a good way to turn low-yielding assets, such as stock with a low dividend, into a higher life-income.

Charitable Lead Trust: A charitable lead trust is the opposite of a remainder trust in that the income is paid to Sonrisas for a specified number of years, after which the trust assets go back to you or another designated beneficiary.  If you request that the property pass to your children or grandchildren at the end of the term, there can be significant estate tax savings.  This is a way to make a generous gift and to transfer assets to children with much lower transfer tax costs.

Retirement Plan: Name Sonrisas Dental Health Inc. as the beneficiary of your retirement account, such as a 401(k) or IRA and reduce your taxable estate.
