Bonnie Jue, DDS
Community Engagement Director
Dr. Bonnie Jue is a second-generation dentist who graduated from the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry (UOP), where she has been a faculty member for over 25 years. She currently is an Assistant Professor at both UOP and University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Schools of Dentistry, where she conducts research studies and leads examiner training and calibration sessions. In addition to her role as a clinician in private practice, Dr. Jue has worked extensively in the community. Using a service-learning model, Dr. Jue has created and developed course curriculum focused on prevention of dental disease, effective communication skills and community outreach. She collaborates with school districts and public agencies, such as the San Francisco Department of Public Health, County of San Mateo Health System, local Federally Qualified Health Centers, and other non-profit community-based clinics in the Bay Area to provide dental health services and education to underserved communities. As a community health advocate, Dr. Jue gives oral health presentations and in-service trainings to staff members and caregivers in community groups, and provides free dental examinations for low-income, predominantly bilingual Spanish-speaking and Chinese-speaking children, adults, and seniors.
Torrey Rothstein, DDS
Dr. Torrey Rothstein has been an associate dentist at the Sonrisas Dental Health Coastside Dental Center since 2006. As Dental Director, he oversees all aspects of patient care, the clinic's quality assurance plan, improvements to services and programs, as well as compliance with state and local safety controls. Dr. Rothstein is in constant contact with clinic staff and volunteers regarding treatment planning, care options, and patient management. Dr. Rothstein is a graduate of the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco and also holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Physiology and Neuroscience from the University of California San Diego. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, and the San Mateo County Dental Society.
Laurie Jue, DDS
Dr. Laurie Jue received her dental training and degree from University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry and graduated in 1997. Dr. Jue joined Sonrisas in 2015. She appreciates having the opportunity to form meaningful relationships with her patients from different backgrounds and she is excited to help them reach their dental health goals. Dr. Jue is a member of the ADA, CDA, and San Mateo County Dental Association. In her free time, she enjoys baking and watching cooking shows with her family.
Frank Ng, DDS
Dr. Frank Ng received his dental training from UCSF and graduated in 1981. He completed a prestigious Fellowship and Mastership of the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Ng joined Sonrisas in 2018. He enjoys helping his patients improve their dental health and he is a member of ADA, CDA, San Mateo Dental Society, and Academy of General Dentistry. In his free time, Dr. Ng enjoys running.
Lerida Lipumano-Picazo, DMD
Dr. Lerida Lupimano-Picazo attended Boston University and graduated in 1992. Dr. Lerida joined Sonrisas Dental Health Inc. in 2016. Dr. Lerida became a dentist because she wanted to help put a smile on children and she sees dentistry as a divine calling to help children's health. She has a special interest in helping children with special needs. Dr. Lerida is a member of the ADA, CDA, and San Mateo Dental Society. In her freetime, Dr. Lerida enjoys going to the gym and attending her Zumba class.
Amruta Hendre, DDS
Dr. Amruta Hendre completed her dental training and received her dental degree from Bharati Vidyapeeth Dental College in Pune in 1997. She later completed her fellowship in geriatric dentistry at UCSF and joined Sonrisas in 2017. Dr. Hendre is a member of the ADA, CDA, and Santa Clara Dental Society. In her free time, she enjoys biking, hiking, and cooking.
Vincent Jue, DDS
Dr. Vincent Jue received his dental training from the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry and graduated in 1975. Dr. Jue joined Sonrisas in 2015 after many years in private practice in San Francisco.
Dr. Jue became a dentist because he wanted to help the many people in his San Francisco Chinatown community who were unable to eat and smile freely due to poor dental health. He is a member of ADA, CDA, and SF Dental Society. In his free time, he enjoys ballroom dancing, golf, and cooking with his grandchildren.
Judyth Lee, DMD
Dr. Judyth Lee attended University of Georgia and obtained her Bachelors of Science degree before moving to Boston for her dental training at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. She continued her post-doctoral education and clinical training at NYU Lutheran Medical Center with special emphasis on Pediatric Dentistry. After residency,, Dr. Lee practiced dentistry in New York City and New Jersey before becoming engaged and moving to the Bay Area. Dr. Lee is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and California Society of Pediatric Dentistry. In her free time, Dr. Lee enjoys creating ceramic art pieces at Clay by the Bay.
Gabriella Bateman, DDS
Dr. Gabriella Bateman wanted to make the Bay Area her home after moving from Southern California to study dentistry at the University of California, San Francisco. Passionate about community and family, San Mateo County was a natural fit. Dr. Bateman received her Master's of Science Degree in Oral Biology at UCLA prior to attending dental school. Upon completing her Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program in Half Moon Bay, Dr. Bateman has focused on providing quality and compassionate dental care. Dr. Bateman is a member of the ADA, CDA, and San Mateo Dental Society. Dr. Gabriella Bateman loves spending time with her family and friends and enjoys being outdoors and traveling.
Deborah Chau, DDS
Dr. Deborah Chau received her dental training and degree from the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in SF, and post-graduate General Practitioner Residency at University of Minnesota. Dr. Chau joined Sonrisas in 2017 and she is a member of the ADA, CDA, San Francisco Dental Society, and Special Care Dentistry Association. In her free time, she enjoys hiking and a variety of outdoor activities.
